Post-Tridentine Nunciatures

An international scientific seminar entitled Sede dell’ambasciata e spazi di incontro, saperi pratici e strumenti delle missioni diplomatiche [Embassy headquarters and meeting spaces, practical knowledge and tools of diplomatic missions] was held at the University of Parma, organised in cooperation with the Deutsche Historische Institut in Rome, Roma Tre University, Sorbonne University, and the Centre Roland Mousnier [CLICK HERE TO SEE THE PROGRAMME].

Doc. Dr. Tomáš Černušák presented a paper entitled La residenza del nunzio Antonio Caetani (1607-1611) nel contesto dello spazio sociale della Praga imperiale. His presentation dealt with aspects of daily life at the papal diplomatic post in the Habsburg court, with a particular focus on the physical space in which the nuncio and his entourage operated. Doc. Dr. Černušák enjoyed an excellent scholarly afternoon in Parma, in the company of other leading specialists in the history of early modern diplomacy, including Elisa Andretta, Paola Volpini, Alexander Koller, Géraud Poumarède and Renzo Sabbatini.
